Java + Angry IP Scanner error

By Tuinslak in Errors, Mac, Software

Angry IP scanner was quitting each time I started the application, and looking at Console I saw these errors: 06/11/08 11:34:15 [0×0-0x1f01f].net.azib.ipscan[190] [JavaAppLauncher Error] CFBundleCopyResourceURL() failed loading MRJApp.properties file 06/11/08 11:34:15 [0×0-0x1f01f].net.azib.ipscan[190] [JavaAppLauncher Error] CFBundleCopyResourceURL() failed while getting Resource/Java directory 06/11/08 11:34:15 [0×0-0x1f01f].net.azib.ipscan[190] [LaunchRunner Error] No main class specified 06/11/08 11:34:15 [0×0-0x1f01f].net.azib.ipscan[190] [JavaAppLauncher Error] CallStaticVoidMethod() [...]

Namely + hiding its icon

By Tuinslak in Mac

I recently started to use Namely but having its icon in my dock was quite annoying (like to keep my dock clean). Namely is an app that let’s you launch any application by typing in a few letters of that program’s name. Just type in a key combination ([Apple]+E here), and Namely’s window pop ups. [...]

Mac OS X.5.2

By Tuinslak in Mac, Software

Yes, it’s here, finally! A 355 Mb patch, downloaded over poor UMTS/3G at school and in the train… Took a while, but it’s finally installed. Some nice few features, like the fact you can now remove the semi-transparent effect on the menu bar (makes it nicer). They also added some nice stacks enhancements. A Time [...]

Parallels + Ubuntu

By Tuinslak in Linux, Mac, VM

I finally got a reply from the Parallels support team. After using the alternate Parallels installer it finally works again! Even after rebooting Mac! *joy* Before trying to run Vista/Bootcamp through Parallels again, I’m waiting till the end of my exams (Thursday). Don’t want to blow up my Windows install again when I’m in desperate [...]

Mac OS X > Windows

By Tuinslak in Mac

When surfing the web, I came upon an old site we (read: Rootspirit) used to host. Nick, one of the posters, wrote an article I totally agree with. It really reflects why I’m using Mac instead of Windows now. Read about it here (Dutch), or here (Google translated, far from understandable)

IP calc

By Tuinslak in Mac, Software

For those who have to work with IP’s and subnets, I have only one word; Bitcricket IP Calculator. It converts decimal IP’s into binary or hexadecimal IP’s (and, the other way around too); it gives you the IP class; it calculates subnets, with the number of hosts/subnet, and gives you the number of host bits; [...]
